Welcome to the University of Michigan Pandemic Influenza Page. This page is an overview of our response plan should a pandemic influenza occur. The University of Michigan has developed comprehensive plans for protecting the safety and well-being of our students, staff and faculty in the event of large-scale pandemic flu infections or any other major epidemic of an infectious disease.

Experts at the World Health Organization and elsewhere believe that the world is now closer to another influenza pandemic than at any time since 1968, when the last of the previous century's three pandemics occurred.
